Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 in a drive arrested a drug peddler along with 200 bottles of Phensidyl from Ramarchar area under Solongga Police Station in Sirajganj district early Tuesday.

The arrested was identified as Mahid, 20, son of late Nurun Nabi of Bahirmadi village in Doulatpur thana of Kustia district. He was carrying the drug with a travel bag, said a press release issued by M Abul Hashem Sabuj, Sadar Company Commander of RAB-12.

Tipped-off that, RAB-12 forces set up a temporary check post at Ramarchar area nearby New Rupali Restaurant on the Dhaka-Bonpara highway at around 1.40am on Tuesday. In a search, RAB forces found 200 bottles of Phensidyl carried on a travel bag. At that time, RAB arrested the mentioned persons in this connection and seized a cell phone and Tk 1517.

The arrested along with the seized drugs and other goods was handed over to the police and a case was lodged with the Solongga police station according to the narcotics act-2018.
