The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 in a joint anti-drug drive recovered 94 bottles of Phensidyl and arrested two drug peddlers from Hatikumrul Bagichapara area in Sirajganj district.

The arrested are: Bipul Chandra Roy, 29, son of Jadunath Barman and Ripon, 28, son of Araji Dewdoba of Dakshmin Gubda village in Lalmonirhat district.

M Abul Hashem, Company Commander of RAB-12 on Monday confirmed the matter through a press briefing.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-12 forces in collaboration with another smart team of CPSC conducted the drive jointly at the mentioned place on September 22 and recovered the Phensidyl. During the drive, the elite forces arrested the duo and seized two cell phones and cash Tk 2500 from their possessions.

In the preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they had been carrying Phensidyl trade in different districts including Sirajganj for long through cell phone and different other internet technologies like whatsapp, messenger, viber and imo.

The arrested were handed over to police and a case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.
