Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have arrested the prime accused in a case filed over murder of college student Abdur Rahman Riyad in Sirajganj.

Md Sakin was arrested on Wednesday from Savar area in Dhaka, according to a press release issued by RAB-12 on Thursday.

RAB said that on 28 December Riyad was sitting inside a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Mujib Road in the town. At that time, unidentified criminals attacked and stabbed him to death in broad daylight.

Following the murder, the victim’s father Rezaul Karim filed a case at Sirajganj’s Sadar Police Station naming Sakin as the key accused. Ten other individuals and 20-25 unidentified youths have been made accused in the case.
