Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a female dentist who was abducted from Rajshahi in Pabna Tuesday night.

A team from Pabna RAB-12 around 8:30pm rescued her from the Mansurabad residential area, next to the central bus terminal in Pabna city. Three members of the abduction ring were arrested during the operation.

Confirming this information, the commander of RAB-12 Pabna company, Mohammad Elias Khan, said that the rescue operation was based on a tip-off that a suspicious abduction group was hiding in the area. The victim, the female dentist, was rescued from the location. So far, three members of the abduction ring have been arrested.

On Monday, early in the morning, when the female dentist’s father, Abu Taher Md Khurshid, 60, went out for Fajr prayer from their home in the Chandrima area of Rajshahi city, the abductors kidnapped him and then broke into the house through the main gate. When the dentist’s mother tried to resist, they injured her by smashing her head against the wall and hitting her with a lock.

After entering the house, the abductors took the female dentist and put her into a vehicle. They also abducted her father in the same vehicle. Later, they dropped the dentist’s father on the road in the Solonga police station area of Sirajganj.

After that, on Monday night, the dentist’s father filed an abduction case at Chandrima police station in Rajshahi city.

The abducted dentist, Shakira Tasneem Dola, had recently completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at a private medical college in Rajshahi. Her father is a retired official from the Water Development Board.
