The much discussed Upazila Assistant Engineer of Raiganj Tamanna Rahman has been transferred to the office of Executive Engineer at Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in Bogura as Assistant Engineer.

She was transferred through an office order signed by LGED’s Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid Mia on February 23 (Sunday).

On the same day (Sunday), local students-public staged demonstrations including holding rally, bringing out procession and submitting memorandum to the UNO of Raiganj demanding removal of the officer and her associates on charge of several grafts and anomalies.

Tamanna Rahman, who had been serving at Raiganj upazila with additional charge as upazila engineer told The Daily Sky that, “I have been facing some problems for the last few days while performing my professional duties. This is why, I had been willingly trying to get a transfer to elsewhere. In the meantime, some students and people staged demonstration against me and my staffs fetching allegations of corruption and anomalies. But, I was not involved with any kind of corruption. So, there is no connection between my current transfer and students’ movement. My transfer order has been issued on the basis of my own requirement, not for their movements.”
