The second edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) T20 began on Sunday in Rajshahi and Bogura, but heavy rain has already forced a reshuffle in venues.

Sunday’s fixture at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura between Sylhet Division and Rangpur Division was abandoned without a toss after heavy rainfall left the ground unsuitable for play. Following an assessment by match officials, the BCB’s Technical Committee and Tournament Committee decided that the venue could not host the upcoming games.

In a statement, the BCB confirmed that the matches scheduled for 15 and 16 September in Bogura will now be staged at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Cricket Stadium in Rajshahi.

“The emergency decision was taken after consultation with all stakeholders, including the participating teams,” BCB stated in the press release.

As per the revised schedule, Dhaka Division will face Barishal Division in the morning match on 15 September, followed by Khulna Division taking on Chattogram Division in the afternoon.

The next day, 16 September, Rajshahi Division will meet Khulna Division in the first game of the day, while Dhaka Division will return to play Rangpur Division in the afternoon.

The morning match starts at 10 am while the afternoon match begins at 2 pm.

The move highlights a recurring issue at the Bogura venue, which is widely praised for its wicket and overall quality but continues to suffer from inadequate drainage.
