All secondary educational institutions of Rajshahi district have been declared closed on Sunday and Monday and all primary schools on Sunday due to the intensity of winter increase. This announcement was made from the office of the Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Education and the District Primary Education Officer of the Rajshahi region yesterday around 10:00 pm.

In a letter signed by Deputy Director of Secondary and Higher Education, Rajshahi Region, Sharmin Ferdous Chowdhury, it is said, “According to the instructions of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, following the information received from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the temperature in Rajshahi district will be below 10 degrees Celsius on Sunday and Monday.” Therefore, the order was given to close all the secondary-level educational institutions in the district for these two days.

Deputy Director Sharmin Ferdous Chowdhury said that she received a message from the Directorate of Meteorology at around eight o’clock in the night. It has been said that the temperature of Rajshahi district will be 9.8 degrees on Sunday. It will remain below 10 degrees Celsius the next day. Therefore, this announcement has been made by letter on an urgent basis.
