Rajshahi witnessed a surge of political activity on Thursday as leaders, activists, and supporters of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) gathered in large numbers to attend an election rally of the party’s Chairman Tarique Rahman.
From early morning, supporters began arriving at the rally venue, the Madrasa Ground, coming from distant areas by buses, trucks, motorcycles, and even on foot.
By around 11:00am, the ground was filled to capacity as thousands of party supporters took their positions, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Enthusiasm among BNP leaders and grassroots activists was clearly visible, centering on Tarique Rahman’s scheduled appearance and address.
Leaders and activists from various upazila and metropolitan BNP units, along with affiliated and associate organisations, started assembling at the venue with party flags, banners, and drums.
Processions accompanied by rhythmic drumbeats and slogan chanting added to the festive mood across the field. The gathering transformed the entire area into a sea of party colors and symbols.
According to party sources, the Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP and Rajshahi District BNP jointly organised the large-scale public rally to mark Tarique Rahman’s visit to the city. The surrounding area of the venue was decorated with banners, festoons, and posters highlighting party messages and leadership slogans.
Supporters were seen chanting slogans and participating in small processions to express their excitement and loyalty to the party leadership. BNP leaders believe the massive turnout reflects growing public engagement and organizational strength at the grassroots level.
