Police have received DNA, autopsy and viscera reports in the case of the murder of child Ramisa following an alleged rape in Pallabi area of the capital.
The investigation officer of the case, Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector Ahiduzzaman Bhuiyan Nipun collected the DNA report from the forensic unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Viscera and autopsy reports were also collected from the relevant authorities.
Investigators said the probe is now almost complete. With the reports in hand, work on preparing the charge sheet is underway. Officials indicated that, if everything goes as planned, the charge sheet may be submitted to the court on Sunday.
On Tuesday last, the mutilated body of the child Ramisa was recovered from a third-floor flat of a building in Pallabi. After the incident, prime accused Sohel Rana fled the scene by breaking a window grill. His wife, Swapna Akter, was arrested from the spot.
Later that evening, Sohel Rana was arrested from Fatullah in Narayanganj. He gave a confessional statement before a court on Wednesday.
