Sports Desk:
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is closely monitoring the security situation in Pakistan following the recent military escalation between India and Pakistan, with particular concern for two Bangladeshi cricketers in Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, who are currently participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Nahid and Rishad play in the PSL for Peshawar Zalmi and Lahore Qalandars, respectively. Their presence in Pakistan comes amid heightened regional tension following airstrikes and retaliatory attacks across the Line of Control (LOC).
“We are worried about those two,” BCB president Faruque Ahmed media. “We are talking to the PCB.”
BCB has yet to make a decision regarding its national team’s upcoming tour of Pakistan, where Bangladesh are scheduled to play five Twenty20 Internationals from 25 May to 3 June in Faisalabad, Multan, and Lahore.
The BCB president acknowledged that the board is monitoring the evolving situation closely but suggested that there is still time before a final decision is made.
“We are really working on the current situation. But it can wait another two or three days,” he said. “At the moment, our major concern is those two players.”
