Actor Ranbir Kapoor has expressed his excitement about portraying Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming film, Ramayana. In a recent interview, Kapoor shared that playing the role is a dream come true for him. Kapoor also emphasised the importance of presenting the epic story with authenticity and respect.
A video of the interview is going viral on social media. In the clip, he says, “I am currently working on Ramayana, which is the greatest story around. My childhood friend Namit Malhotra, somebody who is so passionately making this book, has got the best of all the artistes, all the creative people, the crew. It is directed by Nitesh Tiwari.”
He continues, “It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.”
Namit Malhotra, founder and global CEO of Prime Focus Studios, shared a poster of the film on social media, revealing that the movie will be released in two parts — one in 2026 and the other in 2027. Besides starring in it, Ranbir Kapoor and Yash are also co-producing Ramayana.
