Rangamati Correspondent:
Rangamati Tourist Corporation has temporarily suspended the movement of tourists on the Kaptai Lake hanging bridge as it went under water following the rise in water level of the lake amid heavy rain.
On Wednesday morning, parts of the 335-foot-long bridge were seen under water, with water levels reaching up to 6 inches—or more—in certain areas.
In response, the Parjatan Corporation has temporarily suspended the tourist access to the bridge for safety reasons.
Alok Bikash Chakma, manager of Rangamati Tourism Corporation, said the authorities closed the entrance gate of the bridge in the morning.
The bridge will be reopened for tourists if the water level of the lake drops, he said.
