Actor Rashmika Mandanna and director Rahul Ravindran appealed to their fans to be patient amid ‘The Girlfriend’s’ delay. The actor promised that the updates would follow soon.
Actor Rashmika Mandanna and director Rahul Ravindran’s upcoming film, ‘The Girlfriend’, has been under production for over a year now. Recently, the actor and filmmaker appealed to their followers asking them to be patient for some more time as they are working on providing the best output with the film.
The teaser of ‘The Girlfriend’ was released in December 2024. However, the film is yet to see the light of the day. A couple of days ago, the film was trending on X, thanks to fans who were excited to watch it.
Overwhelmed by the expectations, director Rahul Ravindran wrote, “Guys…there will be updates soon. Praaamise. Please be a little patient (sic).”
Rashmika promised updates soon and said called ‘The Girlfriend’ a character-driven film that will speak about things that weren’t addressed before. She assured that the wait will be worth everyone’s time.
“I know we’ve been making you wait and your trend really is something else.. but trust me @23_rahulr is really working on it to give you the best output and it’s one of the most special kind of films.. its a film where we speak about things we generally don’t talk much about.. it’s a pure characters driven film and that’s the beauty of it.. we promise you we want to give you the best and it’ll be worth you while. But because of today.. for all the love you’ve shown us, we’ll just speed up the process and deliver it to you soonest! (sic),” she wrote on X.
‘The Girlfriend’ is a romantic drama, written and directed by Rahul Ravindran of ‘Chi La Sow’ fame. From the teaser, it looks like Rashmika Mandanna is playing a doting lover who is undergoing relationship troubles.
Apart from Rashmika Mandanna, the film also features Dheekshith Shetty, Rao Ramesh, Rohini and others. Produced by Geetha Arts, the film’s music is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, cinematography by Krishnan Vasant and editing by Chota K Prasad.
