Expatriate Bangladeshis sent $3.17 billion in remittances in January 2026, marking the third-highest monthly inflow on record.

The figure represents a 45.41% increase compared to the same month in 2025, when remittances stood at $2.18 billion, Bangladesh Bank spokesperson and Executive Director Arif Hossain Khan confirmed today (1 February).

The highest remittance inflow was recorded in March 2025, with expatriates sending $3.29 billion, followed by December of the same year, when remittances reached $3.22 billion, the second-highest figure to date.
