Expatriate Bangladeshis have sent 58 crore 45 lakh US dollars remittance in the first week of September. As such, an average of 83 crore 50 lakh dollars of remittances came to the country every day.
This information is known from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday.
The report states that in the first seven days of the current month of September, 58 crore 45 lakh 40 thousand US dollars remittance have arrived in the country. Of this, 15 crore 27 lakh 90 thousand US dollars came through the state-owned banks.
Besides, 1 crore 48 lakh 30 thousand dollars came through specialized banks, 41 crore 52 lakh 70 thousand dollars through private banks and 16 lakh 50 thousand dollars through foreign sector banks.
Before this, expatriates sent the highest remittance of 222 crore 13 lakh 20 thousand US dollars in August.
