The petition seeking review of the verdict to repeal the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which introduced the caretaker government system, is on the agenda of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division hearing on Sunday.

It is number 13 on the agenda of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division’s Sunday hearing, as it’s seen on the Supreme Court website on Saturday.

On December 1, the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed scheduled the review for hearing on January 19. Senior lawyers Zainul Abedin, Sharif Bhuiyan and lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir were in favor of the petition in the court that day. Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman was on the state side.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir filed a review petition on October 16 against the verdict to annul the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished the caretaker government system. Earlier, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, the secretary of Sujon, filed a review petition on this issue. In addition, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, secretary general of the party on behalf of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, filed a review petition. These review petitions were scheduled for hearing together.
