Bangladesh cricketers Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana are set to leave Pakistan tonight as the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been relocated to the United Arab Emirates. Rishad himself confirmed that the players are being flown to Dubai.

The PSL’s venue shift follows a drone attack near the Rawalpindi Stadium on Thursday. As a result, all remaining eight matches of the tournament have been suspended in Pakistan and will now be held in the UAE, although new dates have not yet been confirmed.

Three Bangladeshi players were part of this year’s PSL. Litton Das had to return home without playing a game due to injury, leaving Rishad and Nahid as the only two still in Pakistan. According to the original schedule, Rishad’s Lahore Qalandars and Nahid’s Peshawar Zalmi were supposed to face off in Rawalpindi on Friday.

However, security concerns escalated in recent days following reported Indian attacks in various parts of Pakistan, culminating in Thursday’s drone incident. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) issued a press release Thursday evening, stating they were working to bring the two cricketers home safely and were in touch with the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad. Now, both Rishad and Nahid are leaving the country.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s upcoming five-match T20I series in Pakistan—scheduled for later this month—has also come under doubt. BCB President Faruq Ahmed said a final decision regarding the tour will be made during a board meeting on Saturday.
