A Jubo Dal leader of Satkhira’s Tala upazila was brutally slaughtered by miscreants on Friday night.

The deceased is Shamim, 38, son of Abdul Gaffar Master of Uthali village in Tala upazila of Satkhira district and also Joint Convener of Islamkati Union Jubo Dal. He used to live in 18 Mile area under Dumuria Thana in the upazila along with his wife and mother.

Victim’s wife Bristi Khatun said, Shamim was called by some youths numbering three to four at around 11:00am on Friday night and taken to 2^nd floor of the under construction building in the name of talking about secrete issues. But, he did not returned to home even after passing a long time. This is why, they (family members) came out of home to search him. At one stage, they found his slaughtered body lying on the 2^nd floor of the building.

On information, police from Dumuria Thana reached to the spot and recovered the body. Later it was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mainuddin, Officer in Charge of Tala said, the incident has taken place under Dumuria Thana. So, the respective police station will investigate the incident.

The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately. Investigation is underway, said Dumuria police.
