A student has passed away while taking a pre-final exam at Satkhira Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sharifa Akter Lipi, 22, an honours third-year student of the Department of Islamic History and Culture at Satkhira Government College.
According to classmates, Sharifa suddenly fell ill when the exam was about to begin and a thick substance began to emerge from her mouth.
Later, they along with their teachers, rescued and rushed her to Satkhira General Hospital where the attending physician pronounced her dead.

Confirming the death, Satkhira Government College principal Abul Hashem expressed his sorrow, saying, “The incident is extremely unfortunate. She was one of our meritorious students.
