All secondary level schools, madrasas and technical educational institutions will reopen on Saturday (May 4) and primary schools across the country will reopen on Sunday (May 5) after two-day weekly holidays.
Public relation officer of the Education Ministry MA Khayer confirmed this in a press release on Thursday afternoon.
As per the court order, the schools are remained closed till yesterday due to the extreme heatwave in the country.
Few instructions over the opening of schools have also given in the notification–
# Single-shift schools will run from 8 am to 11:30 pm daily.
# In double-shift schools, the first shift will run from 8:00 am to 9:30 am and the second shift will run from 9:45 am to 11:30 pm.
# The assembly shall be closed until the temperature is reduced to a tolerable level.
# Upazila Education Officer will formulate a weekly routine for upazila-based class activities, considering the routine sent from the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) for conducting class activities with the concerned.
# Pre-primary classes will remain closed until further notice.
