Bangladesh could experience mild to moderate cold waves between this month and January
TDS Desk:
Bangladesh is expected to experience a severe cold wave this winter, with temperatures possibly dipping to as low as 4°C, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
In a long-term forecast released on Saturday, the Meteorological Department indicated that between this month and January, Bangladesh could experience mild (8-10°C) to moderate (6-8°C) cold waves.
Additionally, two to three severe cold spells are likely to affect the northwest, northeast, and central regions, with temperatures potentially dropping to 4-6°C in these areas.
The forecast also warns of moderate to dense fog in the northern, north-western, central, and river basin regions from late night until morning.
This dense fog may reduce the temperature difference between day and night, enhancing the chill factor and increasing the sensation of cold.
