In response to a question regarding the national election, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Sunday reiterated the interim government’s stance, saying the general election could take place earlier as well, but “June 30 means it will not go beyond that.”
He added that it could be held in December, January, February, March, April, May, or even in June — “but not beyond June 30.”
He made the statement during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, organised to discuss the chief adviser’s Japan tour and current affairs.
Other members of the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing also spoke at the event.
