Bangladesh ‘A’ face an uphill battle in their four-day match against South Australia in Darwin, ending the second day on 106 for three in their second innings, still 160 runs behind.

After being bowled out for just 114 on the opening day, the visitors conceded a 266-run first-innings deficit as the hosts piled up 380. Jason Sangha led the charge with a commanding 143 off 235 balls, adding 158 for the sixth wicket with wicketkeeper Harry Nielsen (86). Hasan Murad and Anamul Haque claimed three wickets apiece to finally end South Australia’s dominance.

Bangladesh’s reply began disastrously again. Mahmudul Hasan Joy fell in the first over, while Amit Hasan departed for a duck, leaving them reeling at 2 for 2. Shahadat Hossain then anchored the innings, battling to an unbeaten 42 with five fours and a six. He shared a crucial 69-run stand with Iftekhar Hossain Ifti (35) before Ifti edged Wes Agar behind. Yasir Ali (18*) was alongside Shahadat at stumps.

Despite the resistance, Bangladesh remain under pressure to avoid an innings defeat, with two days left to play. A disciplined batting effort will be required to push the contest into competitive territory.
