A Dhaka court has ordered to seize of two land plots belonging to former Narayanganj-4 MP Shamim Osman amid an ongoing investigation by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The court also ordered to freeze 29 bank accounts linked to Shamim Osman, his wife Salma Osman, son Imtinan Osman, daughter Labiba Zoha Angana, daughter-in-law Irfana Ahmed Rashmi and others connected to his financial interests. The frozen accounts reportedly contain over Tk 128.7 million.
The order was issued on Sunday by Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib, following a petition filed by ACC Deputy Director Rezaul Karim.
According to ACC, the accused had been planning to sell immovable assets and transfer funds while evading authorities. The commission sought the court’s intervention to preserve assets crucial to the investigation.
