Bangladesh’s renowned singer Hasan Abidur Reja Jewel has been laid to rest at Banani cemetery. He was buried on Tuesday (July 30) evening.

Before this, after the Asr prayers, Jewel’s first Namaz-e-Janaza was performed at the Azad Mosque in Gulshan. Many members of the music industry including the musician’s family members were present at the time.

Renowned singer Hasan Abidur Reja Jewel has been battling cancer for 13 years now. Despite receiving treatment at various hospitals in Bangladesh and abroad, his condition has deteriorated.

Family sources disclosed that Jewel’s journey with cancer began in 2011 when he was diagnosed with liver cancer, which later metastasized to his lungs and bones.

Earlier, on July 25, Jewel’s wife, Sangeeta Ahmed, informed the media that due to the worsening in his health situation, Jewel was placed on life support on July 23. She requested prayers from friends, well-wishers, and fans for his recovery. Diagnosed with liver cancer in 2011, Jewel’s condition worsened as the cancer spread to his lungs and bones.
