A new committee of Sirajganj District Nazrul Sangeet Shilpi Parishad has been formed by electing Aminul Islam as President and Abu Jafor Khan Tipu as General Secretary.
The new committee was announced by the unanimous consent of the members in a meeting held at its temporary office in UDP cultural community centre in the town on last Monday night.
Among others, Mofazzal Hossain, Bibek Ananda Das and Hanif Mohammad were also made as Vice-President, while Jubair Zico was made its Joint Secretary. Besides, Nasima Ahmed was elected as Treasurer, journalist and cultural activist Ashraful Islam Joy as Organizing Secretary, Tonmoy Roy as Office Secretary, Joy Dipu Sutradhar as Social Welfare and Cultural Secretary and Rakibul Islam Shuvro as Publication and Publicity Secretary.
Sams-e-Elahi Anu, Jahurul Islam Montu, Nahid Farzana Sonali, Parvin Sultana Ananya, Nando Gopal Roy, Lawrance Hilali and Aninda Kumar Das have also been made executive members and Jalina Yasmin Joli has been made its adviser.
The new committee will be effective for next three years. After announcement of the committee, new leaders and activists vowed to perform sincerely to uphold the history, heritage and culture of Sirajganj district for the next generation.
