A truck driver was killed and helper injured, as a truck lost control and overturned on the road near Ghurka Adarsha High School on the Dhaka-Bogura highway on Sunday afternoon, while its driver tried to save a biker from accident.

A truck driver was identified as Masud Molla, 40, son of Hasan Ali of Rambhadrapur area in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur district.

Hatikumrul Highway Police Station OC Abdur Rouf said that, after receiving the information about the accident, police were sent to the spot and the body of the deceased was recovered. Now the work to remove the truck from road is underway. The body was sent to morgue for autopsy. Legal action is under process in this regard, he said.
