Small screen star Richi finally heads to cinema, teams up with Barshon

Despite a long acting career filled with countless TV dramas and telefilms, Richi Solaiman has never appeared in a feature film until now. The once-popular small-screen actress is finally stepping into cinema for the first time in three decades.

The upcoming film, “Robi in Dhaka”, revolves around Gen-Z struggles, their frustrations, and the journey toward overcoming them.

The film is directed by Rajib Saleheen and produced by Sajgoj, the film will feature Richi Solaiman opposite Imtiaz Barshon.

Speaking about the film, Barshan said, “The story reflects how people continue to find strength to survive despite the frustration, mental pressure, and crises of contemporary life. The film beautifully portrays humanity’s relentless search for something meaningful to hold on to. That’s what touched me most.”

Richi Solaiman has so far remained tight-lipped about the project. She previously teased, “I don’t want to reveal anything yet. I want to keep it as a surprise.”

According to sources, shooting for “Robi in Dhaka” will begin later this month. Alongside Richi and Barshan, the cast also includes Azad Abul Kalam, Arman Parvez Murad and several others.

The release of the film is planned for 2026.
