Sramik Dal protests propaganda against Zia, Tarique Rahman

Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Sramik Dal, Sirajganj district unit, on Monday brought out a procession in Sirajganj town protesting to the propaganda against BNP founder and former President Ziaur Rahman and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman as well as the deterioration of the law and order situation accross the country.

The procession led by Sirajganj Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Sramik Dal Acting President Md. Bisha Sheikh, started from in front of the district BNP office on EB Road and ended at Baza’ar Station area after marching the main streets in the town.

Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu addressed a short rally after the protest march. In his speech, he said, “A group of perpetrators is systematically involved in a conspiracy to erase the name of the proclaimer of independence, the brave martyr President Ziaur Rahman from history. They are continuously spreading shameless lies and propaganda against the people of the country and our acting chairman Tarique Rahman. The nationalist forces of the country will not accept these activities in any way.”

He further said, “Today, due to the government’s indifference, the law and order situation has deteriorated drastically across the country. The country is covered in murder, rape, extortion, and the common people are suffering from insecurity. We urge the administration to take strict action against all these miscreants and ensure the safety of the people.”

Sirajganj District BNP Vice President Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana, Senior Joint General Secretary VP Shamim Khan, Sirajganj town BNP Former President Jahangir Hossain Selim Bhuiyan, Former General Secretary Munshi Zahid Alam, District Chhatra Dal President Jonayed Hossain Sabuj, District Sramik Dal General Secretary Abu Wahab and Organizer Moniruzzaman Moni among others were also present in the programme.
