State should compensate families of student movement martyrs: Fakhrul
The state should pay compensation and allowances to the families of those killed and injured during the recent student movement that ensures a complete fall of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led dictatorship.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the demand while addressing a programme held at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on Saturday.
“Struggle, oppression and torture were the regular phenomenon for the opposition party men during the last 15 years,” Fakhrul said, calling upon his party men to build a strong resistance against the fascist forces.
Family members of those martyred and disappeared under the dictatorial Hasina government over the past 15 years attended the programme.
Citing the instances of misdeeds and misrules of the Awami League government, the BNP leader said the killers must be tried to ensure the country’s rule of law.
