Hundreds of students from Alhaz Mohiuddin Nasir Girls High School on Tuesday blocked Dhaka-North Bengal highway at the Western side of Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge near Sayedabad intersection in Sirajganj Sadar upazila demanding permanent suspension of its Headmaster.

Due to the demonstration of the students, vehicular movement throughout the highway remained halted for about an hour.

The demonstrating students said, managing committee of the school suspended the Headmaster Abdul Maleque on August 19 for a month due to his alleged corruptions and anomalies. But, we don’t want to return of the teacher in the institution anymore. So, we want permanent leave of the corrupt teacher, who was involved with harassing students in many ways.

Abdul Quader Jilani, Officer in Charge of Bangabandhu West Police Station admitted the incident of road blockade and said, police brought the situation under control after reaching to the spot. Now the vehicular movement has been restored like usual period.
