Students of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement on Wednesday surrounded the court of Cox’s Bazar to protest against the bail of Awami League (AL) leaders and activists arrested in various sabotage cases, including the murder cases.

Hundreds of students and student coordinators participated in the three-hour-long sit-in programme held on Cox’s Bazar court premises.

They demanded the cancellation of the bail of AL leaders and activists who have been granted bail within the 24 hours.

The leaders and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement held a protest procession on the Cox’s Bazar court premises starting at 11:00am. They also demonstrated in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

In addition to the leaders of the student movement, several lawyers also spoke at the protest rally.

Speakers on the occasion criticised the pro-BNP-Jamaat lawyers who represented the AL leaders and activists in the court.
