Sports Desk:
Bangladesh left-arm spinner Taijul Islam has made history by becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to secure a contract in the SA20 league.
The 33-year-old entered the draft with a base price of R500,000. Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) made the opening bid and, with no rival interest, signed him at that figure.
Taijul, a proven performer in Test cricket for Bangladesh, will now have the chance to showcase his skills in South Africa’s flagship T20 competition, adding a new dimension to his career.
