Director Shakib Fahad is set to make a new film based on the story of a “New Bangladesh”, with Dhallywood star Shakib Khan in the lead role.

Speculation has surrounded who will be cast opposite him, and industry sources indicate that popular television actor Tanjin Tisha is poised to make her big-screen debut in the film.

While neither the director nor the actor has made an official announcement, multiple insiders have confirmed that Tisha has been verbally finalised for the role, with formal confirmation expected soon.

Shakib will reportedly portray a former state intelligence agent who undertakes a series of high-risk missions for the country—an action-oriented character drawing comparisons to Bollywood’s “Pathan” and “Tiger”. Shooting is scheduled to begin in early September, with the entire production taking place in Bangladesh.

Tisha has been absent from new projects for the past two months, following an extended overseas trip before Eid.

Explaining her hiatus, she recently told the media, “Every artiste needs a long break for good work. Taking a break helps you prepare well for new work.”

The actor also hinted at surprising her audience with a new venture.
