Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been penalized by match referee Ehsanul Hoque for violating the Level 2 code of conduct during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 match between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers on Sunday.

The pacer was fined 50% of his match fee and handed three demerit points for the offence.

Confirming the decision, match referee Ehsanul Hoque “We are charging him for 3 demerit points and 50% match fee.”

The incident occurred during the 19th over of the match when Tanzim bowled a deceptive slower delivery, dismissing Mohammad Nawaz. Following the dismissal, Tanzim confronted Nawaz with a shoulder-barge and exchanged heated words, escalating tensions on the field.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Sylhet Strikers captain Ariful Haq downplayed the incident, attributing it to the natural aggression of a fast bowler. “Such things happen in the heat of the game,” Ariful said.
