BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has been elected Leader of the House and Prime Minister. BNP’s parliamentary body made the decision around 11:30am on Tuesday.
According to a post from BNP’s Media Cell on Facebook, a meeting was held in the Jatiya Sangsad after BNP’s newly elected MPs took oath.
Tarique Rahman was unanimously elected Leader of the House and Prime Minister at the meeting, following BNP’s landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election held on 12 February.
Earlier, around 10:45am, BNP’s newly elected MPs took oath at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. As the majority party, they were sworn in first by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.
