BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has called for unity among all citizens and political parties in the greater national interest.

“Regardless of personal faiths or ideologies, the state belongs to all of us. Therefore, we must remain united for the sake of our country,” he said while virtually addressing BNP’s victory rally on Wednesday afternoon (August 6), marking the anniversary of the July Uprising.

Addressing other political parties, he acknowledged existing differences but stressed the need to maintain mutual respect and dialogue.

“We may disagree on various issues, but we must ensure that these differences do not hinder our national unity or the ability to communicate with one another,” he said.

Urging public support, Tarique called for cooperation in implementing BNP’s 31-point agenda aimed at the welfare of the people and the nation.

Tarique also said, “Today’s rally is a rally of coming out from darkness to light. This path is very easy. If we can leverage the immense potential that has been created and build a political force, we won’t have to witness a bloody ’24 again.

“A great opportunity has arisen to establish democracy in the country. If we seize this opportunity and secure political and economic power, no one will be able to establish fascism in the future.”

Addressing the citizens, he said, “Now is the time for you to decide how to ensure the safety of you and your family members and to establish a determining Bangladesh for future generations. None of us was safe under the previous fascist rule. None of our children were safe. If there is no rule of law in the country, then neither men nor women will get proper justice.”
