Tawhid Afridi sent to jail after remand

Content creator Tawhid Afridi has been sent to jail after being remanded in connection with the Jatrabari Police Station murder case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasib Ullah Pias rejected his bail petition and passed the order after hearing the case.

Earlier in the day, Afridi was produced before the court.

A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team from Dhaka conducted an operation in the Banglabazar area of Barishal city and arrested Tawhid Afridi on Sunday night.

Afridi has been named the 11th accused in the case, which also lists former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the prime accused, former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader as the second, and former Inspector General of Police Abdullah Al Mamun as the third.

Earlier on 17 August, Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch (DB) arrested his father, Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman of My TV, who is the 22nd accused in the case.
