To provide relief to consumers, the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell subsidized potatoes in the capital through truck sales.

Each individual will be allowed to purchase up to three kilograms of potatoes at a rate of Tk40 per kg.

The program will be inaugurated on Wednesday at 9:30am at the TCB building in Karwan Bazar by Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin.

TCB shared this information in a press release issued on Tuesday.

The press release said that under the comprehensive directives of the Ministry of Commerce, TCB is already running a subsidized product sale program for low-income families holding beneficiary cards.

This includes essential items such as edible oil and lentils at affordable prices.

Alongside this initiative, subsidized goods like edible oil, lentils, and rice supplied by the Department of Food are being sold to the general public via 50 trucks in Dhaka and 20 trucks in Chittagong.

Starting Wednesday, potatoes will also be added to the list of items available for consumers in Dhaka city.

Additionally, edible oil will be available at Tk100 per litre, lentils at Tk60 per kg, and rice at Tk30 per kg.

A single consumer can purchase a maximum of two litres of oil, two kg of lentils, and five kg of rice.
