Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has praised Bangladesh’s unique communal harmony, stressing that the country stands out globally in this regard. Speaking at the Langalband Maha Ashtami bathing festival in Narayanganj on Saturday, he stated, “There is no communal harmony like Bangladesh. Look at the situation in our neighboring countries, but here, Hindus and Muslims work together in celebration, particularly during festivals.”
Chowdhury expressed appreciation for the festival’s organization, noting that the water quality had improved from previous years. He assured attendees of the thorough arrangements made by local authorities, stating, “The administration has done a great job, and we have all the necessary preparations in place. The police, naval forces, RAB, army, and other law enforcement agencies are fully ready to assist.”
The Home Affairs Advisor emphasized the inclusive nature of Bangladeshi society, where there is no discrimination based on religion. “We are all human beings and, above all, Bangladeshis. It’s essential that we maintain the dignity and solemnity of our religious practices,” he concluded.
