Members of Bangladesh’s World Cup squad had a full-fledged net session in New York’s Nassau County area on Thursday.

Bangladesh will complete their preparation for the global tournament with the second and last warm-up game against India on 1 June.

Tigers practice on drop-in wickets in New YorkThe Tigers arrived in USA to prepare for the global tournament with a three-match T20I series against the hosts but they got a reality check by losing the series by a 1-2 margin in Houston.

Many believed Bangladesh failed to adapt to the low and slow wickets in Houston. The Tigers were looking to seize the opportunity against the hosts in their first warm-up game in Dallas but their plan couldn’t succeed as the match was washed away without a ball being bowled.

Bangladesh began their training session to adjust to the drop-in wicket as their warm-up game against India on June 1 is slated to be played on the drop-in wicket in New York.

Meanwhile, there are concerns about security at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York ahead of the much-awaited 9 June game between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.

The ICC said they are coordinating with the authorities regarding the matter.

“The safety and security of everyone at the event is our number one priority and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place. We work closely with authorities in our host countries and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event,” a spokesperson for the International Cricket Council was quoted in the media on Thursday.
