With Eid just three days away, the Dhaka-Tangail-Jamuna Bridge highway is experiencing a surge in homebound vehicles. Despite the increased traffic, no congestion has been reported on the highway.

In the 24 hours from midnight Sunday (June 1) to midnight Monday (June 2), 30,167 vehicles crossed the Jamuna Bridge, generating a toll revenue of Tk 3.5 crore (Tk 3,50,45,400), according to Ahsanul Kabir Pavel, Executive Engineer of the Jamuna Bridge Site Office, who confirmed the details to Jago News on Tuesday afternoon.

Of the total vehicles, 15,398 travelled towards northern districts, contributing Tk 1.37 crore (Tk 13,713,550) in tolls, while 14,769 vehicles headed to Dhaka, generating Tk 1.38 crore (Tk 13,832,400).

The Jamuna Bridge authority reported that vehicles are managed through 18 toll booths, with nine on each side.

Two booths on each side are designated exclusively for motorcycles to streamline traffic during the Eid travel period.

Ahsanul Kabir said that continuous efforts are being made to ensure smooth vehicle movement, supported by 24/7 CCTV monitoring.
