A torpedo-like substance having a length of 27 feet and a width of 3 feet was seen floating at a canal at Rangabali upazila in Patuakhali.
The object that came from the Bay of Bengal was floating in the Bhangar canal of Meerkanda village of Moudubi union in the upazila.
According to police and local sources, the object entered the Bhangar canal from the Bay of Bengal through Ravanabad channel. Locals saw the object and later informed the police. The object is currently in police custody.
Rabbi Mia, a resident of Meerkanda village, said, “We have never seen such an object before. It seems it is a submarine missile.” Confirming the matter, Rangabali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Helal Uddin said police were sent to the spot after being informed by the locals. Coastguard members primarily term the object as a torpedo seeing its image.
