Traffic policemen have been removed from several key intersections in Dhaka.

According to The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sources, traffic policemen have been removed from several intersections across the capital due to security risk surrounding the ongoing movement.

In places where traffic police are working, they are accompanied by regular police personnel, so that any untoward incident can be avoided.

In this regard, DMP Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Monibur Rahman said, “There are traffic policemen on duty in the city, but they are working in coordination with the Crime Division in some places. This decision has been made considering the ongoing situation.”
