A freight train compartment has derailed in Brahmanbaria’s Sadar Upazila on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 11:30 am in Chotaharan area under Sadar Upazila on the Dhaka-bound line.

However, train movement between Sylhet-Chittagong and Dhaka on the down line is normal.

Brahmanbaria Railway Station Acting Station Master Jasim Uddin said a container train from Chittagong was going to Dhaka. On the way, a coach derailed at Chotaharan area. As a result, the train movement on the up line has been stopped but the trains will run on the down line until repairs are made.

He also said that the relief train is coming to rescue the carriage.
