A day-long training workshop was held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Belkuchi of Sirajganj district to increase awareness and skills of the farmers in jute cultivation and seed production.
At least 75 farmers participated in the training programme arranged jointly by upazila administration and Jute Department.
Training was provided to the farmers on various technical subjects to increase awareness and skills related to modern methods of high-quality jute cultivation and seed production, relevant sources said.
The programme was presided over by Afiya Sultana Keya, UNO of Belkuchi, while Sirajganj District Jute Development Officer Nazmul Haque, District BADC Senior Assistant Director Shafiqul Islam, Sirajganj District Agricultural Extension Department Deputy Director Ahsan Shahid Sarkar, Belkuchi Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Moshabbirul Islam, Belkuchi Upazila Jute Officer Abdur Razzak, Sirajganj Sadar Upazila Jute Officer Saidul Islam Lulu among others were also present in the event.
The speakers said, the government is determined to bring back the glory of jute. Various incentives are being provided to the jute farmers.
