A protest rally was held in front of the District Lawyers Association office in Sirajganj on Tuesday afternoon demanding arrest and trial of former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque.

Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Ainjibi Forum (Nationalist Lawyers Forum) organized the programme, which was presided over by its acting president Delwar Hossain Montu.

District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, District Lawyers Association President and PP Advocate Rafiq Sarkar, former president Ismail Hossain Hasu, District BNP Training Affairs Secretary Advocate Indrajit Saha, Lawyers Forum General Secretary Advocate Hamidul Islam Dulal and APP Humayun Kabir Colonel among others spoke on the occasion.

The speakers said that, former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque has destroyed the country’s judiciary section as well as democracy in different devil means instead of ensuring fair justice. He has paved the way for illegal seizure of power by abolishing the caretaker government that was settled. Knowing that Hasina will not be able to come on power, if there is a fair election, Khairul Haque has canceled the caretaker government system. Many of his followers are still in different courts, who are engaged in granting bail to Awami League leaders and activists despite fear of creating anarchy in the country again. This is why, action should take against them so that they can’t set empire of injustice in the country in future.
