A pedestrian along with the driver of a truck was killed when the speeding truck collided with an electric pole in Monirampur Upazila of Jashore.

The accident took place at Badhaghata area of ​​Jessore-Chuknagar highway around 7:30 am on Monday.

The deceased are Abdur Rahman, a resident of Bandaghata village and the truck driver’s identity is not yet known.

According to local sources, a truck laden with water tanks was heading from Jashore to Khulna Chuknagar around 7:30 am. The truck lost control and hit an electric pole in Manirampur’s Bandaghata area. Then the truck crushed over pedestrian Abdur Rahman. The truck driver himself also died on the spot.
