Trucks won’t ply on highways for 6 days during Eid

Trucks, covered vans, and lorries will be closed on the highway for the three days before and after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Secretary of Road Transport and Highways Department ABM Amin Ullah Noori came up with the development at a preparatory meeting held at the BRTA office in Banani of the capital to ensure smooth and safe travel of Eid holidaymakers on Thursday.

ABM Amin Ullah Noori said that the renovation of the highway should be completed 7 days before Eid. 155 potential spots on the highways have been identified for traffic jams this Eid.

He also said that trucks, covered vans, and lorries have been asked to suspend the movement on the highway for the 6 days before and after Eid for smooth and safe travel of holidaymakers.
