A Sirajganj court on Sunday sentenced two drug dealers to life-term imprisonment in a drug case filed in 2021.

At that time, the court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, they will have to suffer six months more in jail.

Sirajganj Additional Sessions Judge (2nd Court) Court Judge Abul Bashar Mia handed down the verdict in the afternoon.

The convicts were Roni, 27, of Enayetpur village under Ullapara upazila in the district, and Azim, 30, of the same village.

Sirajganj Additional Sessions Judge Additional PP Zebunnesa confirmed it.

The APP said Ullapara Police conducted an anti-narcotics operation in Ullapara on october 23 in 2021. On the same day, the police arrested the two youths after conducting a raid in front of the office of Ullapara Palli Bidyut Samity. After searching their bodies, 45 grams of heroin was recovered from their possessions.

In the incident, Ullapara Model Police Station sub-inspector Shahidul Islam filed a case as plaintiff.
